You must make the stop through Orangeburg SC to visit The Broughton Street Cafe. The cafe boasts a welcoming atmosphere, not stale and cold like some chain coffee stores. This spot supports community - you can tell the moment you walk in. As promised, the coffee was delicious and the egg sandwiches along with the pastries were heavenly homemade morsels. You could taste the love in every bite. I highly recommend taking the time to visit Broughton Street Cafe and Ice Cream.

Delicious food, cozy atmosphere. I ordered the cinnamon roll and caramel macchiato. The sweetness of everything is at just the right level! Not too sweet but not unsweet. I hope your business does well! Thank you very much.

We're from Arizona visiting the Southern towns and cities. We love coffee, everywhere we travel, we look for local coffee shops. Broughton Street Cafe & Ice-cream made the best iced coffee I have had for a long time. My husband's hot coffee was great as well. The owners were very friendly and the shop was inviting. They displayed art from the local artists. This coffee shop is a gem in their community.

February 25th, 2025....Another visit, luckily early morning and another great chat with Greg over continuously delicious coffee and a scrumptious fresh muffin lovingly presented. I do hope with the new CITY HALL being built across the street will advance the re-generation of Orangeburg's historic central business district and that the BROUGHTON STREET CAFE, which has been a focal beating heart of the decayed downtown. will beat even faster to revitalize this community. FINGERS CROSSED!!! UPDATE as of January, 2025: I have had the pleasure of eating here several times now and this place just gets better and better!!!! I love getting off the Interstate highways and visiting these lovely historic towns that have been left behind by the HIGHWAY TRAVELLERS. The northbound drive between the I-95 and I-26 is soooooo much prettier ....and SAFER!!!!! Orangeburg is the home of USC but the downtown area seems a bit deserted. Fortunately for me, and the people of Orangeburg, this CAFE has opened up to offer locals (and we lucky visitors) some delicious baking and locally-sourced fabulous coffee (and as a frequent visitor to the USA I have not been impressed with much of the coffee I have tasted on previous trips) in a bright, artistic and comfortable setting. This time I had the extreme pleasure of a long conversation with the owner, Greg. Daily baking delights totally unfitting for any diet) are sold out quickly because this cafe has a reputation for delectable desserts. SLICED BEEF with horseradish mayo and a CHICKEN AND PROVOLONE, both on CRISPY FRESH croissants !!!! WOW!!!! Equally delicious is the CHICKEN SALAD on a croissant with a side of LOCALLY homemade sweet wafer dill sliced pickles. Topped off with the CAKE OF THE DAY: I have had a huge slice of fluffy and light Coconut Italian Wedding Cake with delectably soft (and NOT too sweet surprisingly ) white vanilla frosting. Their KEY LIME CAKE is also delectable. Terrific local coffee as stated before. Orangeburg (and the BROUGHTON CAFE) is a great stop before the crazy chariot races on the I-26 to Columbia. (I would suggest adding a half hour to BY-PASS COLUMBIA and continue cross-country on the 601 to RIDGEWAY.)

Incredibly friendly owner and a great stop for a breakfast sandwich and a coffee. Sausage, egg, and cheese saved my morning after a flat tire. We’ll be back!

The wife and I were out exploring Orangeburg on a Sunday afternoon, when we got the taste for ice cream. Instead of a fast food cone or frozen thing in a cup, we wanted real Ice Cream. So she googled ice cream, unexpectedly the Broughton St Cafe came up. We thought great but fully expecting it to be closed because here in SC it seems like all the places to get good food are closed on Sunday! Pleasantly surprised they were open. The proprietor, a gentleman from NY was there by himself. He was very pleasant , eager to serve us, and not over priced one bit!!! Not only was he a fantastic server, chef, owner, but the place itself was awesome! Local artwork prominently displayed everywhere, old school cafe feel, pleasant music, and just an overall warm environment! Very happy to have found this place, and we whole heartedly wish him all the luck in the world!!!! Can’t wait to come back and try the breakfast !!!! Everyone should go to the Broughton st Cafe and give this gentleman your business!!!!! We will!!!! Brian and Neomia from Walterboro

I’ve been here twice and it will be my weekly routine every Saturday morning to have my blueberry muffin and Caramel Macchiato. I love the atmosphere and service is top tier.
